چکیده

This paper unveils the basic mechanisms underlying rectified diffusion processes. The exact solution of the radial transport of species in both phases, gas and liquid, turns to be crucial to accurately predict the growthrate in the context of lithotripsy. The Direct Numerical Simulation of the temporal evolution of an spherical bubble is used to gain new insight on the effect of two phenomena: Transient effects related with the gas diffusion in the liquid and non uniform concentration gradients inside the bubble. The special characteristics of the process impedes a direct application of usual hypothesis usually applied in studies related with bubble growth in ultrasonic fields.

On Modeling Evaporation of Sessile Drops

Evaporating drops and thin films have numerous applications, from nanometric photoresist films in semiconductor applications to small sessile drops used for analysis of DNA microarrays [1]. Evaporating sessile drops are particularly interesting due to nonuniform drop thickness and the presence of contact lines (separating liquid, gas and solid phase). These factors may lead to nonuniform evapor...

مدل سازی عددی انتقال و پخش آلودگی نفتی در دریا

Nowadays oil spill are one of the most important problem in the humans life. Usually advection and dispersion occur because of chemicals, physicals and biological processes that related by properties of oil and other things. These processes are evaporation, dispersion and so on. When oil spills on the sea, it is extended and made oil slick. Increasing these kinds of events cause developing many...

Molecular-dynamics simulation of evaporation processes of fluid bridges confined in slitlike pores.

A simple fluid, described by pointlike particles interacting via the Lennard-Jones potential, is considered under confinement in a slit geometry between two walls at distance L_{z} apart for densities inside the vapor-liquid coexistence curve. Equilibrium then requires the coexistence of a liquid "bridge" between the two walls, and vapor in the remaining pore volume. We study this equilibrium f...

DNS of droplet evaporation and combustion in a swirling combustor

Turbulent multi-phase combustion is encountered in a number of engineering applications, such as internal combustion engines and gas-turbine aircraft engines. Therefore, the ability to perform accurate numerical simulations of these systems is of paramount importance to improve their design and efficiency. However, the underlying physics of spray combustion are extremely complicated. The liquid...

Evaporation of a thin film: Diffusion of the vapour and Marangoni instabilities

The stability of an evaporating thin liquid film on a solid substrate is investigated within lubrication theory. The heat flux due to evaporation induces thermal gradients; the generated Marangoni stresses are accounted for. Assuming the gas phase at rest, the dynamics of the vapour reduces to diffusion. The boundary condition at the interface couples transfer from the liquid to its vapour and ...
